Thank goodness the heat broke over the weekend! I thought I might have some roasted students after last week. Students should be reading AR each night. They should be studying multiplication facts. Some students had reading homework if they did not finish in class. I have to say, I am very happy with the effort they are putting in their work. I know today's reading assignment was somewhat grueling. Keep up the good work!
For our fair project, we are going to make dream catchers. I have material for the rings. If you would like to send in beads, feathers, twine, yarn, or embroidery floss, it will be put to good use.
Have a great evening.
I want to thanks the students for a fabulous first week of school! I have truly enjoyed getting to know them. Please check your child's planner to see what they have for homework this weekend.
Today we watched part of the Blue Planet series concerning the deep parts of the oceans. Students will complete a writing assignment on the segment of the video we watched. This will be completed in class.
If your child has not returned the stack beginning of the year stack of forms, please turn those in ASAP. Book orders are due Sept. 9, 2014, if your child wants to order.
Good Evening Room 4 students and parents! Many thanks to all for a fabulous start to the school year. I would like to share with the students that Monty, the praying mantis that visited our room today, was rescued by Mr. Elliott. I released Monty into the wild shortly after his rescue from the ceiling. Many thanks to Mr. Elliott.
All students were required to fill out their planners today. Because it was the first day, much of it was spent going over procedures and getting to know each other. I told the students to write the STAR test in their planners. However, we ran out of time and will take it tomorrow. Students did have homework this evening. The assignment should be written and circled in their planners.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening.
